How We Can Help You or How You Can Help Others

We provide assistance to residents who are experiencing financial or housing crisis. Oak Lawn Family Service is a Service Extension Center of the Salvation Army and has been since 1998. Funding received is limited, but it is put to good use providing emergency food, shelter, and clothing, and assistance with rent, utilities and medication for Oak Lawn and Hometown residents only.

The Community Outreach Program additionally provides Oak Lawn residents with information and referrals to various social service agencies that will help meet needs that are beyond the scope of services offered at Oak Lawn Family Services.

The overall goal is to empower Oak Lawn residents and connect them with available community resources.

If you are in need of assistance, please download and complete the following form and contact our office for an appointment at 708-423-3361 extension 13.

Holiday Programs
The holiday programs are designed to provide food and gifts to those families, residing in Oak Lawn, experiencing a financial hardship due to illness, unemployment, etc. during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. You can participate by donating gift certificates and/or helping to fulfill a family’s wish list.

You may also contact us if you are, or know someone in need of assistance at familyservice@oaklawn-il.gov.
